Thank You to the 2016 Competition Applicants

Thank you to applicants, teachers, parents, and friends of young musicians applying to the 2016 North American Piano Competition. We look forward to hearing these young artists perform.

Open to pianists, ages 16 ­– 20, the competition semifinals and finals will be held June 2 – 8 in Milwaukee. Ten semifinalists will share prizes totaling more than $27,000, plus a scholarship to attend the 2017 International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City.

New in 2016 – all semifinalists will experience in-depth collaborations with Milwaukee Symphony musicians that include two rehearsals before performing the Collaborative Semifinal Recital for an audience and members of the jury. Finalists will have three rehearsals before performing with the MSO for the Finals and Awards Concert – the first with the conductor, the second with a quintet of musicians and the conductor, and the last with the full orchestra.
