SUPPORT CLASSICAL PIANISTS Celebrating 26 Seasons of Classical Piano
Snapshot of the 2024-25 Season
Our 2024 class of PianoArtists return to Miwaukee through fellowships to perform a wide variety of concerts, give master classes, and teach.
In December, Derek Hartman (2018 alumnus) will be the video talent performing Beethoven’s Appassionata sonata on a historic piano for schools participating in our education programs.
In January, Benjamin Keating (2024 alumnus) will join UW-Platteville professor Kaju Lee to present the concert “Songs of the Platteville Settlers” for their public schools.
In March, Lucas Amory (2024 alumnus) and his violinist sister, Leah, will perform Peter and the Wolf as a Family Concert and recitals featuring Prokofiev’s violin piano sonatas in Milwaukee and Chicago. In addition, Nicholas Suminski (2018 alumnus) will present youth concerts “Building the Milwaukee Road.”
In April, Derek Hartman returns to perform Pictures at an Exhibition on the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center Concert Series.
Capping off the season in June, PianoArts joins the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra to sponsor the Wisconsin Youth Piano Competition for pianists ages 10 to 16.
This biennial competition introduces youth to a broader stage, offers them coaching from our fellows, and culminates with a public recital performed by the fellows – this season, called, “Opera á la Piano.”
Even more is in the works. Your support is vital, and we are grateful for all you have done to make these opportunities possible.
PianoArts is a proud Affiliate of the United Performing Arts Fund. The education program in Platteville is supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
