Congratulations to the 2023 Semifinalists Performing in June’s Wisconsin Youth Piano Competition

Congratulations to the contestants in the Wisconsin Youth Piano Competition advanced to perform as semifinalists at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Public events include the semifinal round on Sunday, June 18 at 1:00 pm and master classes for the semifinalists on Monday, June 19.  The pianists advanced to the finals will perform with a chamber ensemble from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra at 3:00 pm on June 19.

Semifinalists are  Alexander Bo, from Middleton, performing  Beethoven’s first movement of Concerto No. 1 in C Major; Paul He, from Pewaukee, performing the first movement of J. S.  Bach’s  Concerto No. 1 in D Minor; Komei Okamoto, from Brookfield, will perform the first movement of Beethoven’s  Concerto No. 2 in B flat major; André Peck, from La Crosse. will perform the third movement of Mozart’s Concerto  No. 21 in C major, K.467; Ashley Li,  from Middleton, performing the first movement of Mozart’s Concerto No. 9 in E flat major, K 271; and Kevin Wan, from Mequon, will perform the first movement of Mendelssohn’s  Concerto No. 1 in G minor.
