June 16, 3:00 pm: Three finalists perform concertos with Milwaukee Symphony musicians. The jury picks the winner who will perform for an MSO Youth Concert in 2026.
Performances will be held at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, 1584 North Prospect Avenue, Milwaukee. The competition is free to the public.
Competition Jury Takes the Stage to open the 2025 Wisconsin Youth Piano Competition

Competition jury members and their musical duo partners will open the Wisconsin Youth Piano Competition on Friday, June 13 at 7:00 pm with the program, ”Creative Partners.” Diana Shapiro, jury member, and her piano partner, Stanislava Varshaski, will perform Russian composer Valery Gavrilin’s Sketches from the opera, Aniuta. Juror Michael Rector and his partner, Sylvia Hong, will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Andante and Allegro Brilliante. Music of the Americas will be performed by juror Elena Abend and clarinetist Orlando Pimentel. The concert will be followed by six semifinalists performing the first movements of their concertos with a second pianist playing the orchestral reductions on Sunday, June 15 at 1:00 pm. The jury will advance three of the pianists to the final round scheduled for Monday, June 16 at 3:00 pm. read more“SONGS OF THE PLATTEVILLE SETTLERS” YOUTH CONCERT

We send a huge thank you to UW-Platteville, Platteville Elementary students, and music specialist Kelsey Duss for making our artists feel so welcome in the community. Our concert,”Songs of the Platteville Settlers” connected students with their past, especially the Cornish and German settlers, along with the Native Americans and the African American families who founded nearby farming communities. PianoArtist Benjamin Keating welcomed to the stage accordionist Dennis Smith, tenor Ray Calderon, and the Madison Männerchor, a choir founded in 1852. The concert’s 116 fourth graders joined the event as a spectacular chorus seating in the audience.
