Thank You, Friends, for Making the Gala, Vienna, City of Dreams, an Exciting Success

Posted on: May 5th, 2017

To our friends of many years and new friends, thank you for joining us for the PianoArts 2017 Gala Concert, Vienna, City of Dreams. Your support will help tremendously in preparing for the 2018 North American Competition. Watch for gala photographs on our website.

A night to remember, audiences were enchanted by the performances of our eleven gala musicians – starting with the brilliant pianist Sam Hong and world-class musicians from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra: Margot Schwartz, violin; Dylana Leung, violin; Robert Levine, viola; and Scott Tisdel, cello. Concert pianists Stefanie Jacob and Jeffry Peterson dazzled the audience with their lively Marche Militaire by Franz Schubert, setting the stage for beautiful songs by Richard Strauss sung by Tanya Kruse, as well as Viennese and Viennese inspired compositions performed by Wisconsin Youth Piano Competition Winner, Michael Wu, and 2017 PianoArts Fellow, John Schindler. Zither player Kurt von Eckroth captivated everyone with his “old-world” charm and an audience sing-along with Tanya Kruse, Wien, Wien, nur du allein.
