2016 PianoArts Preliminary Jury

PianoArts is pleased to announce the distinguished jury who will select the 2016 semifinalists: Evelyne Brancart, Frederic Chiu, and Stijn De Cock. Ms. Brancart, who received Belgium’s Laureate de La Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth prize, is a highly respected concert pianist and Professor of Music at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Frederic Chiu, a concert pianist and recording artist on twenty compact discs, is known for his wide-ranging interests that include a recent recording of Franz Liszt’s transcription of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. Also from Belgium, Stijn De Cock, who has performed extensively on four continents, is currently teaching on the piano faculty of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.

The preliminary round is based on audio only. The jury will listen to, but not watch the videos.
